Chess teaches students problem-solving skills, as they learn to think ahead, evaluate multiple alternatives, make logical judgments, and anticipate consequences. It has been shown to increase attention span and build self-confidence. For over 30 years, Mountain Lake Chess has been teaching students of all ages the finer points of the game, via online and in-person classes.
