Larry Evans’ chess camp staff offers two sessions of non-stop chess over Christmas break. Nationally rated tournament and casual play, loads of classes, interactive software, and team events on our life-size, Harry Potter chess set. Prizes awarded each day and personalized trophies at the end of camp reward participation.

Chess has strong educational value. It teaches critical & abstract thinking, planning, logic and analysis. It improves the ability to concentrate and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Chess also teaches the importance of behavior management: making good choices and considering all possibilities. Studies have shown that chess players improve overall in their grades, test scores and thinking abilities.
