SCHEDULE OF ZOOM CLASSES
Online instruction utilizes an interactive display board, strategy and tactics on the chessmagnetschool website, review of Larry’s articles for young students from this website, animated interactive instruction on Fritz & Chesster and games between the participants on chess.com.
Students are assigned to play against each other between classes Those games are analyzed on the interactive display board during class. As this presents gaps in the student’s knowledge, the articles, magnetschool and animated tools are brought to bear and fix the problem.
As in our live programs, children earn points for correct answers and game victories that count toward trophies (though those must now be picked up at our central office rather than each school).
Classes run for 8 weeks (late entries are accepted for a pro-rate enrollment fee; call us at 619-585-1050 to arrange registration).
Beginners are also welcome. Chess is a great workout for mathematical muscles. It’s problem-solving. Students learn to think ahead, evaluate multiple alternatives and anticipate consequences. They improve spatial reasoning, visual memory and attention span while learning good judgment, reasoning power and self-confidence.
