Winter Camp
The Mountain Lake Chess Camp’s
2009 WINTER CHESS CAMP
At our spacious Balboa Park facility!
December 21-23 & 28-30 9am – 3pm daily
2225 6th Avenue, San Diego, CA
International Master Larry Evans and staff offer three full days of
non-stop chess over Christmas break. Supervised tournament and casual
play, loads of classes, chess movies, internet matches against children
from around the world and team events on our life-size, Harry Potter
chess set. Prizes awarded each day and personalized trophies at the end
of camp reward participation.
Chess has strong educational value. It teaches critical & abstract
thinking, planning, logic and analysis. It improves the ability to
concentrate and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Chess also
teaches the importance of behavior management: making good choices and
considering all possibilities. Studies have shown that chess players
improve overall in their grades, test scores and thinking abilities.
Snacks provided by camp daily.
Children bring their own lunches.
The cost of the camp is $159.00 Per Week
